Business Retention Grant Update

by | May 13, 2020 | Business Community

For the past few weeks, we have been accepting applications for the Jerome 20/20 Coronavirus Business Retention Program. The program was initially made possible by a $100,000 contribution by an anonymous donor couple in Jerome. We are pleased to have been administering the program! It has allowed us to meet some outstanding business owners in Jerome County.

The “grant” program was for existing businesses in Jerome County and was awarded at the discretion of a local committee.  The application considered a variety of information, but largely focused on how businesses have been affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Applications have been submitted by owners of restaurants, beauty salons, auto-repair shops, barber shops, catering businesses, child-care & day-care businesses, and many more.  Clearly, the need is great and the stories are troubling. We received just over 50 requests for information and awarded grants to 32 applicants.

Checks for these grantees were delivered over the last several days.  Thank you to the donor couple who made this possible.
