More than $5 million worth restoration projects and forthcoming interpretive exhibits are being designed to preserve the history and lessons from southern Idaho’s Minidoka National Historic Site.
On Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho, joined National Park Service personnel, local elected officials and the Friends of Minidoka to highlight three historic restoration projects at Minidoka that are being funded by $5 million from the federal Great American Outdoors Act, which President Donald Trump signed into law in 2020.
Funding will help restore a root cellar, a mess hall and a barracks from the camp.
