Idaho’s workforce could grow at a rate several times higher than the national rate, according to a biennial projection from the Idaho Department of Labor.

Seth Harrington, a regional labor economist with the Idaho Department of Labor (IDOL), presented a report on Tuesday based on the state’s projected growth between 2024 and 2034. Utilizing data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the IDOL, Harrington laid out how Idaho’s key employment numbers are anticipated to fare favorably compared to the rest of the United States.

The difference is particularly stark when comparing the number of people working in Idaho compared to the number working across the nation.
